The Daily Eastern News – the newspaper of Eastern Illinois University – reports that EIU may look to increase the number of international students studying there.
Right now there about 450 international students. That’s a bit over 5% of the total student population of around 8,900.
Matthew Walters is going for the job of assistant dean of international students and is keen to see the number of international students at EIU rise.
If he gets the job he says he’ll seek information on what does and doesn’t work when it comes to attracting international students to study there.
A quick look at EIU’s website shows that they are are already doing quite a lot right. They have a dedicated international student section on their website, which is easy to find from the home page and contains good info for prospective international students. Not every university can say the same.
